Capt. John Decker is proud to welcome you aboard his KRAKEN.  Capt John does an extraordinary job of putting you right on the fish and will travel wherever he must for a job well done! Capt. John and Capt. Dave Riback met as deckhands on neighboring boats.  Capt John worked deck and captain aboard the original Purple Jet boats back in the late 90's thru 2010. In 2012, John purchased the same make and model vessel as the Purple Jet III and named her the Kraken.  Capt John has one of the few USCG inspected custom sport fish model boats for groups over 6 and less than 20 passengers. The Kraken can fish up to 15 max and up to 20 passengers on cruises. Besides Fishing charters, the Kraken offers Fireworks/River Cruises,  Bachelorette/Bachelor parties & Scatterng of Ashes cerimonies.  We hope to see you aboard this season

A large beam & the largest cockpit in its class! It is powered by twin 550HP Detroit engines to get you to the fishing grounds in maximum time. With a fiberglass hull that has been designed to withstand the roughest of waters, and a huge fishing platform that is fitted with large insulated fish boxes, a tackle preparation area, cockpit controls, and transom door, this boat is prepared to host up to six fishermen in style and comfort. It also comes fitted with a spacious and enclosed flybridge, outriggers, downriggers, center rigger, and hi-tech navigational electronics. SEA OWL  Sportfishing specializes in a wide variety of fishing techniques, and the crew will be happy to run you through the best methods for your target species. Depending on your trip of choice, you will have the opportunity to chase down a multitude of fish, including Striped Bass, Sea Bass, Bluefish, False Albacore, Bonito, Shark, Tuna (Big Eye, Yellowfin, Bluefin, Longfin), Wahoo, Marlin, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, Fluke, Blackfish (Tautog), Cod, Pollack, Ling, winter flounder and more! Trips include bait, ice for catch, sinkers and hooks, filleting and bagging of catch. Day trips will also include breakfast, lunch, drinks and a snack, while afternoon Trips will include a sandwich, drink, and snack.

Capt. Cole RIback grew up learning from his father Dave the inshore waters. He fell in love with the light tackle aspect of chasing both inshore and offshore species.  Whether its Striped Bass in the Spring & Fall, Bluefish, Bonito & False Albacore summer into October and even offshore, chasing tuna with jigs and poppers.  Capt Cole will give it his all to provide a fun day! 

 

General Info for all Private Charter 

 

• All charters include everything for fishing: Rods – Bait & Tackle!  Feel free to bring your own gear if you prefer.
• A Private charter is your group ONLY!  
• A deposit is due upon booking. The balance is due prior to leaving the dock.
• We accept cash, checks and credit cards. When paying the remaining balance with
  credit card, there is a 3% fee.
• Our deckhands work for gratuities. A 15% to 20% tip is customary.
• Limit alcohol to beer and wine. Hard liquor is not permitted
• There is no smoking in the cabin of the boat.
• Wear and bring sun protection and sunglasses.
• Rain gear – we fish in the rain.
• If you are prone to seasickness and take seasick aids you may want to consider taking a dose the evening
  before and one in the morning. Taking it in the parking lot or on the boat after you are sick will not help!
• Deposit is non-refundable. 7 days notice is required to change or cancel a trip or the deposit will be lost.
  ONLY the captain reserves the right to cancel the trip due to weather or other issues that would cause safety concerns for the customers or crew.
